Are all the Mdumanes of the Koena origin or is it just a sub-clan? Nithini xa nizithutha?
Bhanqo, there is only one Mdumane.We do not have sub clans either or the great house.Our praise names are Mntshilibe, Bhanqo, Ndize, Langa, Bobese,Khawuta,Mdumane, and of course Gcaleka.I was convinced that I am 100 percent Xhosa until convinced by knowlegeable people that Im Sotho.I disputed the matter but to no avail as several people kept on telling me the same story until I decided to do a research about the history of amaNtshilibe.Research proved beyond unreasonable doubt that we dont feature in any of the Nguni houses but Sotho.Find the book by L.T. Manyase named Imbumba yamanyama an another book by Dr. Rev Ngwanya as well as the internet.Try to get info from various materials you will be more informed.Thanks for asking.Mdumane.
